Board of Public Works 12/03/2018

The Charlestown Board of Public Works met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, December 3 at 9:00 AM. A summary of the meeting and full audio are available below:

  1. Call to Order/Pledge of Allegiance
  2. Determination of a Quorum and Roll Call: Members present were Ben Ledbetter, Ted Little, and Mayor Bob Hall. Also in attendance were city attorney Michael Gillenwater and Clerk Treasurer Donna Coomer
  3. Approval of prior meeting’s minutes, current claims, and payroll allowance docket from 11/19/2018 to 12/02/2018 combined into one motion for consideration.
    • Motion to approve made by Ben Ledbetter
    • Seconded by Ted Little
    • No Discussion
    • Unanimous Approval.
  4. Items of Business
    • Greenscapes Contract Renewal
      • Mayor Hall asked if everyone was pleased with the landscaping service. Donna Coomer mentioned one minor issue and Ben Ledbetter explained it has been addressed. Donna said that she has been pleased with the service.
      • Motion to approve contract made by Ted Little
      • Seconded by Ben Ledbetter
      • No additional discussion
      • Unanimous approval
    • Ted Little asked a question about a telephone pole that requires relocation on 403. Mayor Hall explained that they met on Thursday and the situation was addressed. Work will resume on the project in March when the asphalt plant opens.
    • Ben Ledbetter noted that the flags in the city are displayed at half-staff today in honor of former President George Bush.
    • No additional updates
  5. Motion to adjourn made by Ben Ledbetter and seconded by Ted Little. Unanimous approval.
